How we work

We produce limited editions of our artworks at irregular intervals. These editions follow an overarching theme and translate it into acoustically effective artworks through composition and color.
Each piece is laid out layer by layer using high-quality sheep’s wool and felted by hand. This process gives these one-of-a-kind pieces depth, texture, and vibrancy.

All of our pieces feature sound-absorbing filling made of sheep's wool insulation that is pesticide-free and protected against pests. They come in handcrafted, hand-waxed and oiled oak veneer frames.

Interwoven

Interwoven is the debut collection by Lierre Sauvage, featuring ten hand-felted acoustic artworks that examine the patterns of connection, tension, solitude and interdependence.

At the material level, it refers to the felting process itself: the interlocking of individual wool fibres under sustained pressure until thousands of single strands become inseparable from the whole. At the conceptual level, it proposes that relationships between people, between states of being, and between the self and its environment.

IN THE MOOD FOR RAIN

IN THE MOOD FOR RAIN is inspired by one of summer's most recognisable feelings: the moment the heat becomes too much, and you find yourself quietly longing for rain.

The works move through colour the way the season moves through heat. They begin in warm, bright yellows: the colour of full sun, of long afternoons, of summer at its most generous. Blue appears early, quietly, as a hint of something cooler that hasn't arrived yet. As the collection develops, the yellows deepen into rich, burning reds: the colour of a summer that is still beautiful but has become almost too intense to hold. And finally, the blue takes over. Cool, dark, and deeply relieving. The heat hasn't broken yet, but the promise of rain is finally close enough to feel.

Each piece captures a different moment within this turning. Together they tell the full story of a season in transition. Separately, each one stands alone as a single feeling, held in wool and colour.
